Tech Trek

Are you interested in attending Tech Trek?  Tech Trek is a science and math camp designed to develop interest, excitement, and self-confidence in young women who will enter eighth grade in the fall. It features hands-on activities in math, science, and related fields. All sleeping, eating, instructional, and recreational facilities are located on a university campus where camps are held.

The Berkeley Branch is sending three middle school girls from local Berkeley, Emeryville, and Albany Middle Schools to Tech Trek for the 2018 year. Candidates selected will spend a week at Sonoma State University tasting dorm life and classes related to various aspects of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. The $1,000 camp fee for each camper comes from tax deductible gifts donated by members and friends.  Checks should be made to the AAUW CA SPF with Berkeley Tech Trek in the memo line.  Checks can be mailed to AAUW Berkeley, 941 The Alameda, Berkeley CA  94707 or delivered to the same address.

Candidates interested in attending Tech Trek Camp can download the “Teacher Flyer”.  All Tech Trek candidates are nominated by their STEM subject teachers.  The deadline to submit an application is February 28, 2018. Please email sakm012307@gmail.com if you have any questions and put Tech Trek in the subject line.
