For many years, the AAUW Berkeley Branch has been committed to expanding educational opportunities for women pursuing higher education. Our scholarship program has supported students across a wide range of fields.
The Berkeley Branch has a long history of investing in local students through scholarships funded by member donations, community gifts, and special fundraising efforts.
In recent award cycles, we provided scholarships to:
- Undergraduates continuing their studies
- Graduate students advancing research and professional training
- Transfer students beginning their academic journey at four-year institutions
Across our most recent years of awarding, the branch supported 17 students, providing $17,000 in scholarships.These recipients pursued fields in the sciences, arts, public service, health, engineering, and education. Many remain connected to the branch and continue to lead in their communities.
With renewed support and strong community commitment, we are prepared to do even more in the year ahead.
After a four-year hiatus, the Berkeley Branch recently received a large contribution towards awarding scholarships and the membership is currently developing a plan for disbursing the scholarship funds. We will be announcing a new initiative focused on awarding scholarships in the Spring of 2026.
